Margaret C. Merrick, MD, FAAP, CPC, possesses 28 years of practice operations and management experience. Dr. Merrick is a Board-Certified Pediatrician, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a Certified Professional Coder magna cum laude. Her areas of expertise include financial management and analysis, contract negotiation, and coding compliance. Because she is a physician, her seminars on medical coding and audit prevention capture the critical needs of her colleagues. She is a visiting lecturer at the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Wake Forest University Baptist Health, where she delivers the popular "Business of Medicine" series. She has coordinated the practice start-ups for numerous health care professionals. Dr. Merrick and the Firm routinely work with providers, administrators and staffs to establish sound medical business fundamentals that help maintain a productive and profitable practice. Tammy L. Lenhart, CPC, CCP, CMRS, has 25 years of experience in both clinical and business aspects of the medical office practice. On a daily basis, Ms. Lenhart supervises the billing and insurance for primary care and specialty practices. She works closely with A+ clients to optimize billing procedures and collection processes. She performs chart audits with a particular expertise in Evaluation and Management coding. She provides coding training to clients and has taught coding courses at the Carteret Community College. Ms. Lenhart is a graduate of the American Medical Training Institute in Miami, Florida. She has achieved the accreditations of Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Professional, and Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist. Jennie W. Odham has specialized for over 20 years in accounts receivable evaluation and insurance follow-up. She is an expert in denial prevention, correct use of modifiers, and maintenance of current A/R. This knowledge proves invaluable to A+ clients who need assistance with the evaluation and correction of unacceptably aged accounts. She works daily with both Allscripts and Greenway practice management systems. In addition to her billing credentials, Ms. Odham is experienced in business and front office supervision, daily reconciliation procedures, and coordination of patient flow. Beverly A. Smith has over 14 years of experience in all aspects of medical office procedures in multiple specialties. Ms. Smith has particular expertise in Accounts Receivable management and in credentialing with government and commercial payers. Ms. Smith fields calls and questions from clients and coordinates on-site training sessions and webinars.
